Allergy infusion

Allergy Infusions — targeted relief for the immune system

Allergies such as hay fever, house dust or animal hair allergy affect many people — often with symptoms such as sneezing, itching, breathing difficulties or skin reactions. Often an over-reactive immune system and a disturbance of the body's own regulation are behind it.

Allergy infusions offer a gentle, supportive way to stabilise the body during the allergic phase. Depending on composition they can:

  • regulate the immune system
  • dampen histamine release
  • ease inflammation
  • calm the mucous membranes
  • reduce oxidative stress

Selected vitamins (e.g. Vitamin C), minerals, trace elements such as zinc and, depending on need, herbal or anti-histaminic additives are used in a targeted way.

Infusion therapy can be used both during the acute allergy season and as a preventive measure — for more quality of life and less burden from allergic reactions.

How does an allergy infusion work?

During an allergic reaction the body releases more histamine, which triggers the familiar symptoms: a runny nose, itchy eyes, skin reactions and fatigue. The allergy infusion is designed to address exactly this. vitamin C, zinc and further antioxidants — directly into the bloodstream, bypassing the gastrointestinal tract and therefore at a concentration that cannot be achieved orally.

Vitamin C is regarded as a natural counterpart to histamine and can support the body in regulating the allergic burden. Zinc and antioxidants complement this approach by buffering the oxidative stress that arises during persistent inflammatory reactions. no substitute for emergency medical care in cases of severe allergic reactions, and no cure for the allergy — it is an accompanying measure that many people experience as relief during the acute phase.

When can an allergy infusion make sense?

The allergy infusion is used above all as an accompanying measure with:

  • Hay fever & pollen allergy — particularly during the season, as a course over several weeks
  • House dust and animal hair reactions with year-round exposure
  • Food intolerances as part of a holistic concept
  • general exhaustion due to the persistent strain on the immune system

Whether the infusion makes sense in your situation is something we clarify together in the first consultation — depending on your symptoms, existing conditions and treatment so far.

How the allergy infusion proceeds in my practice

It begins with a detailed conversation about your complaints and your medical history. On this basis I put the infusion together individually for you. The infusion itself usually takes around 30 to 45 minutes — you lie comfortably in the treatment room and can read during this time or simply switch off. During the pollen season in particular, a series of several infusions over a few weeks has proved effective; we discuss the right rhythm individually.

What does an allergy infusion cost?

The allergy infusion is a self-pay service; statutory health insurers generally do not reimburse services provided by non-medical practitioners. Private health insurers with a corresponding tariff often cover part of the cost, depending on the policy. You receive a transparent treatment cost plan from me in advance, so that you know the cost before treatment begins, with no hidden items.

Who is the allergy infusion suitable for — and who not?

It is suitable for people who wish to ease their allergic burden alongside conventional medical treatment. It is not carried out in cases of severe kidney disease, during pregnancy without medical consultation, or with acute, severe allergic reactions — those require immediate medical or emergency care. With a known glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency, high-dose vitamin C is not suitable; we clarify this during the case history.

The allergy infusion and related procedures

The allergy infusion is part of my Infusion therapy. If strengthening the immune system is the priority, an High-dose vitamin C infusion may also be the right choice. If there is reason to suspect that intolerances and burdens lie deeper, we look at the overall picture in the area of Allergies & intolerances . Which route makes sense for you is something we find out together.

Frequently asked questions about the allergy infusion

Does the allergy infusion cure my allergy?
No. The infusion can support the body during the phase of allergic strain and ease symptoms, but it does not remove the underlying allergy. It is an accompanying measure, not a curative one.

How many infusions do I need?
That depends on your symptoms. During the pollen season a series over several weeks has proved effective; we agree the exact rhythm individually.

When should I start the course?
With a pollen allergy, ideally a few weeks before the expected pollen count, so that the body enters the season prepared. But the infusion can also bring relief during acute exposure.

Are there side effects?
The infusion is well tolerated. Occasionally a feeling of warmth occurs during the infusion. What matters is taking the case history beforehand in order to rule out contraindications such as severe kidney disease or a G6PD deficiency.

Does health insurance cover the costs?
Statutory health insurers generally do not. Private insurers with a non-medical practitioner tariff often reimburse part of the cost, depending on the policy. You receive a treatment cost plan in advance.

Can I combine the allergy infusion with other therapies?
Yes. It combines well with further building blocks of infusion therapy and naturopathy. You should not change an existing conventional allergy treatment without consulting your doctor.
