Sinusitis or paranasal sinus inflammation

After summer it returns — the time of colds and inflammations…

Everyone is sniffing, coughing, sneezing… we can hardly avoid it…

When the paranasal sinuses feel full, swollen or congested, when the head and forehead feel pressure and the nose is „completely blocked“, naturopathy offers approaches that can help our body recover.

Especially now in the cold season, especially when damp cold air alternates with dry indoor air, our immune system has its hands full and our mucous membranes often suffer. Cough, runny nose, throbbing head … we all know it.

The paranasal sinuses are cavities within our skull. Among other things, they serve to reduce the weight of the skull — otherwise our head would be even heavier. They also serve as a resonance chamber, to enhance our speech clarity. They are lined with mucous membranes and unfortunately host in many people chronic inflammatory foci

Ask about my practice's Nasal Reflex Therapy, which can have a supportive, mucus-clearing and liberating effect on a „blocked nose“ and on sinus inflammation.

A case report from the practice

A patient of over 80, known to me for years, reported sleeping worse and finding it slightly harder to breathe. His ENT specialist had previously found mild sinusitis; the paranasal sinuses were partly filled with secretion that could not drain properly. In my practice I treated him with acupuncture, cupping and nasal reflex therapy. He subsequently reported more air, easier breathing and a feeling of clarity, and his wife confirmed that he snored less. A follow-up examination of the paranasal sinuses by the ENT specialist is still to come.

Case examples are not a blueprint for a therapy. Every person is different, and various causes can lie behind any symptom. Illnesses must be assessed by a doctor.
