My Top 10 Globules for the Home Medicine Cabinet — and When You Need Them
Globules belong in many naturopathic medicine cabinets. They are easy to use, well tolerated and can offer quick support for acute complaints. Here I introduce you to my personal top 10 homeopathic remedies for everyday life.
1. Aconitum napellus: For the sudden onset of a cold or fever, usually after exposure to cold or a shock. Ideal in the early phase of infections.
2. Arnica montana: The remedy of choice for blunt injuries, bruises, falls or as support after surgery. Helps against swelling and pain.
3. Belladonna: Sudden rise in temperature, flushed face, throbbing headache. Typical with feverish infections accompanied by a feeling of heat and irritability.
4. Nux vomica: For irritable bowel and digestive upsets after too much food, coffee or alcohol. Also helpful with stress-related irritability.
5. Chamomilla: The classic children's remedy – for teething pain, colic, restlessness or defiant behaviour. Also suitable for over-stimulated adults.
6. Apis mellifica: For insect stings, allergic swellings, stinging pain and sudden redness – ideal in summer.
7. Gelsemium: For flu-like infections with weakness, chills, a feeling of heaviness, nervous stage fright or exam anxiety.
8. Arsenicum album: For food poisoning, diarrhoea with weakness, restlessness or night-time anxiety. Important for travel complaints.
9. Bryonia alba: Dry cough that worsens with movement, or aching limbs that call for rest. Common with colds.
10. Rhus toxicodendron: For muscle tension, strains, colds with aching limbs or sensitivity to weather changes. Particularly stiff in the morning, better with movement.
These remedies are no substitute for seeing a doctor, but they can support many everyday complaints well. Important: the choice of the right remedy always depends on the individual symptoms. For acute use, potency D6 or D12 is advisable, according to your therapist's recommendation.
